We are proud to be the clinic who first used Sculptra in the UK and Europe. The London Medical and Aesthetic Clinic has had over 5000 Sculptra treatments performed by Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi.
Lines and wrinkles appear as we age, due to our skin losing elasticity. The skin can also loose volume and start to sag, which also makes us look older. One of the biggest factors that affects people appearance as they get older is the loss of collagen which is a chemical compound that makes the skin firmer and more elastic. One of the solutions that have been used to turn back the hands of time is Sculptra.
Sculptra is one of the latest advances in non-surgical, non-invasive, anti-ageing cosmetic treatment that works by stimulating the build-up of your own body’s collagen. It is thought to be an amazing procedure to be used against wrinkles. It is a new and innovative remedy custom-made for anyone who wishes to get rid of age signs and bring back the lost facial volume.
As a result, it smooth’s out lines and wrinkles by restoring lost volume, giving the patient a much younger-looking face. It can also improve the skin’s elasticity and can help peel back the years in a natural, gentle way without any of the pain or risk of undergoing surgery.
The improvement is gradual, long-lasting, there’s no need for a hospital stay, no general anaesthetic and no scarring. As you would expect, it has many applications but it is best used in the cheeks to create a fuller face and higher cheekbones in addition to lifting deep folds around the nose and mouth (naso-labial folds), folds around the corners of the mouth (marionette lines), or on hands to reduce the appearance of ageing and on deep scars.
The appearance of lines and wrinkles are greatly improved as are the overall contours of the face, making you look years younger. The effects are natural looking, gradual and mostly important, subtle. One of the key advantages of Sculptra is that it lasts up to three times as long as other commonly used fillers. Sculptra is different to an injectable filler or implants that either have a shorter term result or are more invasive.
The patient will be able to notice results immediately after the first Sculptra treatment, although the results won’t show until three to four weeks following the treatments, but the effects can last over years. In fact, it is a polyl-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which is a synthetic lactic acid that is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body that actually stimulates the body’s own production of collagen with results lasting for up to two to five years. Another benefit for the patient is a quick recovery and the chance to get back to normal activities straight away. For the best result it is necessary to massage the treated area twice daily for a week at least after treatment.
Sculptra is suitable for all skin types and no allergy testing is required. The main ingredient is a biocompatible, biodegradable synthetic material that has been used by physicians for decades.
Sculptra works due to a number of injections being inserted into the patients face, which fill the required areas: two or three treatments are usually required. As said, the results can often last from two to four years, but in some cases, a top up session is recommended to keep up with the wished effect.
Patients travel from all over the UK and from around the world to have Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi perform Sculptra treatment at our clinic, which is one of the leading training centres for Sculptra treatment in the UK and Europe.
